The Foundation is involved in a range of activities that support Wallingford School and the wider public in the surrounding area.

The school receives funds each year for several events and schemes that have become special traditions in a Wallingford education, among them

  • the STARS programme, that celebrates a personal achievement of every student at some point in their time at the school
  • a residential trip for students with Special Educational Needs
  • a Year 13 residential revision trip, to support A level exam preparation

In addition, the Foundation funds one-off projects such as the refurbishment of PE changing rooms and, most recently, new sound and lighting equipment.

The Foundation is currently supporting the development of a biodiversity plot on the portion of the St George’s playing field which incorporates the Walter Bigg car park. A haven for wildlife and planting as well as a place that all Wallingford residents can enjoy, it will be named after former Walter Bigg Foundation Trustee Pat Granados.
